Elephant Man Original. A supremely thrashed 1990 Rio Grande City Girls Athletics Champion single stitch tee — already a rare vintage find — transformed into a hand-drawn art object. One of one.
The original red collegiate lettering reads "1990 / RIO GRANDE CITY / 2118 / GIRLS ATHLETICS" on a heather grey Champion blank. Hand-drawn illustrations weave throughout the original print in vivid multicolor:
- A green bead rosary necklace draped around the collar
- A colorful butterfly (yellow, green, blue) top right
- A tropical fish and a worm on a fishhook top left
- A winged skull bottom left
- A smiling crescent moon with blue clouds bottom right
- A gothic cross center left
The tee itself is supremely thrashed: massive holes punched throughout the chest, shredded and fraying collar, and the iconic Champion "C" logo still intact on the left sleeve. Every mark is earned. Every illustration is original. This is the only one.
